Ill. Supreme Court strikes down carry law restricting 1000 feet from park

The Illinlois Supreme Court had already held that the Second Amendment protects a right to carry guns in most public places, and in today's People v. Chairez it likewise rejected a ban focused on carrying within 1000 feet of parks:

we are getting extremely close to the Supreme Court resolving the split. The Maryland legislature should take note.

the Florida and Illinois Supreme Courts, and the federal appellate courts for the Seventh and D.C. Circuits have said "yes," and the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Circuits and the Maryland, Massachusetts, and D.C. high courts have in effect said "no"

Well, regardless of what some judges may think, the second amendment does say KEEP and BEAR arms.... Only constitutional carry is constitutional.

How about carrying IN parks. I will never forget my hairy encounter in 1992 at Chicago's Dan Ryan Woods park. Those lil punks made Baltimore's lil punks look like boyscouts.

No change in parks. This ruling strikes down a law that predates the FCCA. So has no effect on current laws.
