My best friend of 30 years father is a high ranking US Rep. here in MD. Think I can call in a favor for my concealed carry permit? No joke.

My dad could probably get into political favors too, and then after enough schmoozing ask one of the politicos to tell MSP to issue me a 24/7. It wouldn't be fair to the rest of you though. Plus my dad doesn't schmooze. He is way too honest for that type shit. So am I.

I support the right of law-abiding citizens to [fill-in-the-blank] under reasonable, common-sense regulations.

I wonder how Mr. Cardin would react if in the [fill-in-the-blank] section to the above sentence I put in some of the following:

    "To peacefully assemble"

    or

    "Practice the Jewish religion"

    or

    "Purchase and maintain slaves"

I hear ya! LOL To be honest, I would never ask him for a favor like that. I'll save it for something really good like if I ever get in to trouble. :D

I just don't understand how the state can take away our right to carry. I'm a law abiding, tax paying citizen and former LE and still can't carry. I just don't get it. Why isn't the NRA lobbying in State House?

Because there isn't a snowball's chance of passing a right to carry law in Maryland unless the current law is declared unconstitutional.

Cardin is an idiot Leftist (arent' they all). He'd restrict your right to own firearms at the drop of a hat. "Reasonable, common-sense regualtions" indeed - Leftist code words for gun control, also used by the Occupier of the White House. Unfortunately, Maryland has a one-party dictatorship and a dangerous fool like Cardin will be re-elected.

If things get much worse, I'm only 29 miles from the Delaware state line. I hate saying that because I love Maryland and the Eastern Shore but I won't be treated like a child while Maryland taxes me to death and keeps taking my rights away.

    Ben Cardin reads tea leaves

Dave, Jr., I've recently purchased a house in Delaware and will be moving there permanently when I retire (reasonably soon). I've lived in Maryland for over 42 years, 34 on the Eastern Shore, and have watched it regress into a Socialist state. When you have a virtual dictatorship by one party, it becomes a difficult place to live, at least for those who value individual liberty.

I 100% understand. For me, I would have to displace my family although we would still be very close to all of their friends. My kids made me promise them I wouldn't move, they love the house and the property. I'll have to see how things go.

Yes, a former USSS agent, Richard Douglas, from College Park, MD.

Uh, you're a little confused, you're merging two candidates. There's Daniel Bongino, the former US Secret Service Agent, http://www.bongino.com/about.html and he's also a small business owner and former NYPD officer. Then there's Richard Douglas, a retired Naval Officer with 18 yrs active duty, and another 14+ yrs reserve service and time as a Senate staffer and now a small business owner.

    I asked

Second Amendment question to Daniel Bonino, e-mailed response:

    Dear James,

Thank you for contacting the campaign. I wanted to respond to your question regarding Dan Bongino’s position on the Second Amendment.

I’d like to pass on to you a statement the campaign released earlier that specifically addresses your question.

As a former law enforcement officer, Dan Bongino has firsthand knowledge and a direct perspective on gun rights and the 2nd Amendment.

Dan believes in an America where the 2nd Amendment protects the right to keep and bear arms for every law-abiding citizen in the United States; all Americans are entitled to protect their person, family, and property.

Dan believes in an America that respects civil liberties. He supports the concealed weapons permits be available to Maryland residents on a ‘Shall-Issue’ basis without unreasonable hurdles, exorbitant fees or arbitrary justification.

Dan believes in an America that focuses on building personal accountability, community awareness and economic prosperity as the true weapons towards reducing crime, not more misguided and unnecessary firearm regulations.

Most of all, Dan believes in an America that is safe and free.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. We look forward to earning your support. You can follow the campaign on the Web, Facebook, and Twitter.

    Thanks for reaching out.
