    Hi, I am new to this hobby of airsoft sports. Is it legal to own an airsoft gun in the chevy chase area? I looked everywhere and couldn't find an accurate or up to date answer for this question. Thank you

    I didn't see why they would be. Just don't go running around your neighborhood with it or you might be shot by one of your anti gun neighbors.

    Welcome. Not illegal to own but check the local laws because IIRC shooting any type of air rifle is illegal in Montgomery County except in your basement. That is from memory so check the actual laws.

    Very good references Swinokur. Chevy Chase is in the Urban Area.

    Where they get you is in the definitions:

    I just spotted the Montgomery County loophole........it doesn't cover rail guns.
