Ask Battlefield Vegas what their parts replacement intervals are like. They put about 100k rounds through their Glocks before the slide cracks at the ejection port. They still function, but throw rounds right.

I'd have to say 100k or more rounds through a pistol is impressive, before a failure like that. Even more so that it is a polymer frame handgun.

Search the world wide inter tubes for the slow motion video of the glock flexing when fired. Very impressive. It’s been posted here before.

I’m too lazy to look it up.

When the Glocks first hit the market , of course I had reservations about the durability of " plastic " frames . Until handling a 100k plus round count rental gun .

Is there a range of rds thru a glock that might indicate wear on parts that require replacement? Tires, 35k mi, wiggly pin, 85k mi on a car.

A Glock is not a car. Parts are relatively cheap, easily inspected and replaced. Inspect and replace as needed or wanted for peace of mind.

On polymer framed handguns, is it typical for the frame to fail? I am having a hard time thinking of a polymer gun that is known for having frames fail. USP, nope. Glock, nope. Don't know much about M&Ps or Xds. The only guns I can think of that have a limited frame service life (in relative terms), are the aluminum SIGs.

The molecular structure of the polymer materials used in guns, is very strong. It's biggest con is exposure to extreme heat.

Extractor and spring loaded bearing between 5,000 and 10,000 rounds, or whenever extraction starts 'skipping'.

A good friend has a G19 Gen2 with over 25,000 rounds through it, and has replaced the above parts, ONCE.

Nice guy, but does NOT take care of his firearms. Period.

He's cleaned the daggone pistol, ONCE.
Claims he's gonna shoot it to failure. His "torture" test.

(Heck the torture is because it's owned by him!)
