It just refused to die! We fired at it from close range and knocked it repeatedly on the head with a metal shovel, but it had very little effect. It took sixteen .30-06 ammo before it stopped crawling, but we finally got it!

It seems that this particular prawn fed on fish that should have been its predators...

I don't see no "sixteen .30-06 ammo" holes anywhere ...

The "giant" shrimp looks like a photoshop cutout (shadows under the tail are ... weird; you can see round "eraser" artifacts in the red area, lower-left.) Having blasted the critter all to hell, I could totally see an editor at World News Daily Report saying "We can't publish this ... You there - fix it!"

Could it be related to this picture?

I remember my grandmother would read the National Inquirer and there were always stories like this with pictures. Nobody believed them to be true back then but sadly today there are many who will believe anything posted on line.

Thank you Al Gore for inventing the Internet.

You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich.

It's fake. The resolution of the shrimp doesn't match the rest of the picture. Plus I'm pretty sure shrimp gills can't support life at that size. It's a surface area to volume problem. As a shape gets larger the surface area/volume ratio decrease. I.e. too much mass to support with bug gills.

Or maybe this is just a strange joke that I'm not getting and people realize it's fake?
