Applied for my Dc ccw, told I just need to provide the training and it will be granted. Where has everyone got theirs done? How much and good experience?

What is the training requirement for the 2 year renewal? Tried looking it on the MPDC website but can't seem to find it.

DC accepted my MD training docs. The only thing that needed to add was the DC laws portion, for both initial and renewal.

The Maryland Small Arms Range offers the DC CCP training as part of their "multi-jurisdiction" class. See: www.msar.com

I took this for my DC cert, since they rejected all of my other training and experience. Instructor was great. Retired MPD. This was also the cheapest option out there at the time, and he kindly provided all of the ammo for the course of fire. We were given MD certs as well, which are of course useless unless SCOTUS strikes down may issue in the two years for the date I took the class, or leisure suit Larry grows a pair.

There is no shooting from a holster.

IIRC it is 7, 10, and maybe 15 yards fire at your own pace. The target is a standard B-27 silhouette.

It is a safety test rather than a challenging qualification.

You'd be amazed how many certified instructors think you have to actually do the MPD qualification on this, when in fact you do not.
