    Yes. You run in to issues with foregrips on pistols IIRC. Plenty of threads on here about it if you search.

    I hear you. I was actually running a search last night and most touched on it but very ambiguous with regard to a rifle.

    Then we have the whole fluidity of laws.

    The only trouble a vertical grip can get you into is on a <26" AR pistol, that would make it an AOW, being it lacks the stock to be considered a SBR, is no longer a pistol defined as a firearm designed to be "fired with 1 hand", and not a non-NFA "firearm" being under 26". So far hand stops, bipods(grip-pods and those that have a built in VFG do probably make it a AOW), and AFGs are not considered VFGs. Problem is the interpretation and enforcement of the law is left to the miles of often conflicting ATF regulations and opinions.

    Vertical grips aren't that great though. A firm overhand grip gives you better control.
