Snubbie, decent condition. No box. What do you think is a fair price..

That should be an ILS model. May or may not have a two piece barrel. Not particularly collectible. Low 5ish? Really depends on condition and build variables.

Has zero collector value, but as a used shooter, $400-$450, tops, in nice condition. Two piece barrels, mim parts and ils all work against it. Also, the quality control at S&W has been suspect in recent years.

I was going to say avoid two piece bbls .

( Not because of two piece per se , but because of EDM rifling vs conventional rifling .

While EDM is smooth and dimensionally consistent , accuracy with lead bullets is worse, and vels are lower than typical conventionally rifled bbls .)

What is a two piece Barrell?

The interesting thing is, that while they are badmouthed by some as being of lower quality than the preceding crush fit system, they are actually an improvement. Some salient points first:

The two piece barrel construction is more expensive to produce, requiring more manufacturing operations

It was originally developed to solve design engineering problems for their new, top of the line S&W 500, and is propagating to other models

It alleviates static material stress at the barrel to frame joint that is inherent with the old crush fit attachment method, making this critical area including the forcing cone far less susceptible to corrosion and cracking** Both corrosion and cracking here are known hotspots for example in the K-Frame magnums

It is supported at both ends, enhancing accuracy

Nothing against the two piece arrangement . All the advantages listed , and thought to be a major factor for the great accuracy potential of Dan Wessons .

It's the rifling . EDM rifling is at major disadvantage to cut or button rifling for cast bullet use . If S&W used two piece bbls with cut rifiling , I'd be appaluding .

Another problem with the two piece barrel is the fact that you can’t replace it on your own. Smith uses a proprietary tool to remove two piece arrangement. You would have send it back to the factory for that kind of work.

Any competent gunsmith can swap out a crush fit barrel.
