So everyone understands (in case there are those that don't know the MGA process for a bill):

This means that the Judicial Proceedings Committee voted in favor of the bill without changes. It will be reported later this morning to the Senate as a whole on 2nd Reader. If it passes 2nd Reader, it will be presented sometime later today on 3rd Reader for a final vote by all of the Senators (at which point it may be amended).

Thanks MJD and ESQ for these updates!

We are having a lot of conversations here on the Bricks with many legislators, including Brochin. He says he is not getting credit for watering down the Campus Carry Ban! I asked him why he didn't have "trust" in the current Campus Ban policy. He just shrugged his shoulders and yelled to Sen. Ready "hey, who's done more to soften this bill than me?"

Sen. Ready told me the egos could wind up killing the momentum.

The Patriot Picket is in place for the rest of the day. After you make your calls and send your emails come on down and be a part of 2A history in MD!

What do you understand him to mean by that? What "momentum?" Passage of SB946?

I suppose it would be illegal to throw caltrops in front of the dems as they head for the door to go in.

Yes I am joking, I would never suggest impeding our duly elected official's from performing their swore duty.

How about flaming bags of poop?

Oh, I forgot - that would confuse them. They would think we were sending new bills their way... :D

    Guys,

MPGV is trying to strong-arm Brochin into making the campus bills criminal penalties. We need our folks to call his office and apply pressure to keep it civil penalties or kill it entirely.

    His office is (410) 841-3648.

    Call ASAP!!
