    (II) COATED WITH A PLASTIC SUBSTANCE AND CONTAINING A CORE OTHER THAN LEAD OR LEAD ALLOY;

    By coated does this mean plastic cased, or lacquer?

    (B) A PERSON MAY NOT POSSESS OR USE RESTRICTED FIREARM AMMUNITION DURING AND IN RELATION TO THE COMMISSION OF A CRIME.

    Still isn't completely re-assuring. For self-defense, don't they usually arrest first and then force you to argue self-defense?

    Just thinking if it is more important for our cause to be in house with our resources or in a hearing on the senate side being run by Frosh. Wondering if this thing (SB420) is actually going anywhere.?

    OK, I screwed up. This is passed the senate and having a hearing in the house today. It has already crossed. Hitting House Judiciary again may make sense.

    Also, muzzleloader sabots, power belts, and slugs (copper solid, aerotip etc) would fall under this. This is too open, say you get popped on some goofy transportation infraction (we all know how those laws are here in MD). Now you are looking at multiple years in jail if you have any of the following in the vehicle, and loss of being able to own firearms and current firearms are confiscated:

    A shotgun shell (waterfowl or non-lead slug)
    A muzzleloader sabot
    Frangible or other non-lead ammo.

    It's meant to apply to gang bangers already on parole for attempt murder and handgun violations who are charged with additional attempt murder, handgun use in commission of a felony, reckless endangerment and convicted felon use firearm in crime of violence...........so they can be charged with one more misdemeanor if they use solid copper bullets in their gat.

    Thank goodness no DA ever gets creative or goes beyond legislative intent. I was almost worried there.

    Only MD would make it a crime to commit a crime...

    Only police and military should be able to...
