While there is no guarantee of success, a fight unfought is a fight never won.

I'm glad to see that this has some coordination with MSI. I understand the gritting of teeth over there these past few weeks. So much so that Spot telecast this a while back (perhaps subconciously). Thanks to all.

In other (somewhat related) news, Delegate Dwyer thought the letter we discussed in another thread was "great" and with a few tweaks is sending it to the AG for follow-up to his original letter. It should sound familiar to anyone who has read the case in this post or any of the others filed nationwide. Will post the final after the Delegate's office sends it to me.

I doubt the AG will respond, though. He'll claim the matter is subject to a court case and punt. But like I said in my opening line, you can't win if you don't swing.

Gansler had best do better than the tripe he dished out in the last response. Oh to be a fly on the wall of the inner-circle.

I'd like to add my name to the chorus of people who: a) would like to publically thank Spot and Norton and the whole MSI team, and b) would like to ask if there is anything that we can do to help, besides the obvious money thing to either/both SAF and/or MSI.

And by the way, I found the next MSI meeting notice on the mdshooters calendar at: http://www.mdshooters.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=269&day=2010-8-8&c=1. So others don't have to look it up it will be on Sunday August 8th at 1400 at the Anne Arundel Fish & Game. I plan to attend and to bring my checkbook. They won't get rich off of me alone but if we all kick in what we can, it all combines together to help.

(And Spot, Norton - in hindsight as we all now know, you've obviously been real busy behind the scenes, but your home page web site http://www.marylandshallissue.org/ doesn't list your big upcoming annual meeting. The Upcoming Events links still just shows the Open Holster Rally from a few weeks back. Lots of people who might not even know yet about mdshooters may look there for info, and thus miss the meeting. Would offer to fix it for you to help with the burden, but of course can't.)

sorry if i missed this earlier, but does anyone know when the case will be heard? Also where I can look to follow it?

I also have another question, (again sorry if I missed this somewhere else) lets say the case is won and the court decides that self defense is a substantial reason for a permit and thus allows shall issue, if the superintendent appeals it, does that ruling stay on hold and continue the rule that defense is not a good substantial reason? or does it make md shall issue until the next court the case is appealed to makes a decision?

A lot of questions, and I've been away all day...same with Norton.

MSI knew about this a while back, and while all the armchair quarterbacks were bitching that we weren't "doing enough" or we were being "too polite" we were grinding our teeth trying to remain mute while getting all of our ducks in a row. Norton did a lot of background research for this case and got a lot of the names, dates and info that will be needed to make this a success.

And yes, we are helping to foot the bill. We've been holding off on purchasing a lot of things that people thought we should buy, and holding back on things that people thought we should do. We (MSI) will be cutting a major check to support this. This is our mission, and we've been laying groundwork in ways that weren't appropriate for public discussion.

So to the impatient paeople that have been pissing and moaning about the lack of action, you can go **** yourselves. Thanks for making our jobs ten times harder while we put things together for this.
Wow, that may be the single best method of money solicitation I have ever seen. :sad20:

The more people we bring in as members of the SAF, NRA, and MSI the better. Glad to see so many others who are not otherwise involved putting their money where their mouth is to support the effort! We all need to recruit hard, especially those who we know are on our side but are not members of these organizations. Now is the time!

    This is great news!!!
Just sent $50 to MSI and $50 to SAF. I'm already a member of both (SAF less than a week), so these are just donations to help the cause!!!!

If you were going to stab someone in the eye, would you say, "Hi, I'll be at your house tomorrow at 4:37pm with a 6" knife that was recently sharpened. I'll knock first, but probably just walk in anyway and come from behind and insert my knife as accurately as possible into your left eye"???

Some things simply can't be discussed until the appropriate time...simple as that. Telegraphing one's intentions to an adversary is foolish. We know exactly who reads these forums by their email addresses and IP's and when, how often and what they read while they're here.

On top of that, this is SAF's case for sure. It was not our place to disclose their intentions.

As for soliciting money? People will send money to the causes they believe in without being hassled into it, as witnessed by the NRA bashing that regularly occurs due to their solicitation of funds.

This is awesome! Sparked a great conversation with the better half last night. This weekend we are going to take care of a long overdue MSI donation and see what we can do for SAF as well! Thank you all who are behind this!

We are also going to get our Utah CCWs together so we can get carrying practice in other states! :D

Scott, anyone that thinks that you guys "don't do enough" CAN go F themselves, because they obviously have their head up their a$$. THANK YOU for all the hard work that you, Paul, and the rest of MSI do for us.

To those that thought that MSI was sitting on its thumb this whole time...open your eyes. You see the committment Paul and Scott have put forth day-in and day-out in everything they do, and you've seen the results of all the recent court proceedings....what in the hell makes you think that MSI wouldn't react appropriately? Seriously.....did you think Obama wasn't a socialist too?

Does this mean we're being "watched"?

Of course. But I hear that if you cover your keyboard with aluminum foil it prevents them from knowing the true identity of forum posters.

    Dave: Thanks brother.

Aside from I-Stalking people you're forcing us to spend money by joining SAF and donating to MSI. You sir(s) are a bad influence. :)

You should report immediately to Bloomberg and ask for forgiveness.
