Glock 43 in a crossbreed IWB holster. Went from carrying a Glock 27 and love the difference in weight and thickness.

A 9mm Springfield XD-e, because it fits my hand well, and since I cut my teeth on a 92, the DA/SA-with-hammer appeals to my safety sensibilities. In lighter clothes or other concealment-challenge situations, the compromise for now is a Ruger LCP2. Because the damn thing just disappears.

I was eyeing the XDe, also. Safety being a pushing factor, along with its hideability.

" Safety " as commemted above could have two different contexts , the specific safety devices, or the overall state of a genre of pistol .

I'm not going to say that Glock-ish pistols are inherently unsafe . I liked my Gen 1 G17 , and my G29 will evently join the rotation .

But particularly coming from a Revolver background , I am very open to DA/SA , * so long as the DA trigger doesn't suck * . My above mentioned P225 has excellent DA trigger , and the P90 a plenty good enough one .

My preferred carry consists of compact handguns with long double-action triggers. I hate striker fired pistols. I want fixed sights on any handgun that will be drawn from concealment. Since it is highly likely that any CCW shooting will be done with the adversary close by, I don't need to be carrying a service size handgun with awesome sights. If I'm in a situation where a long shot is involved, I shouldn't be involved in that situation. And if such a situation arises and I'm stuck in dealing with it, my handgun is what I use to get to my long gun.

The need for concealed carry applies to urban areas. For when I am out and about in the woods or whatever, I prefer a 4" barreled, or longer, revolver or a 1911 variant in something more than current service calibers. A 4" revolver with 357 Magnum rounds is the minimum I would carry, preferably in a shoulder holster or chest mounted cross draw holster.

Depends on the day and how deeply I need to conceal.

EDC for most work days is a Seecamp .32 with an attached belt clip. Can hide it wearing anything - either in a pocket holster or under a tucked in shirt. Laugh all you want, but it's very easy to always have with me.

Now that the weather is cooler, either a .45 Shield IWB holster or a 642 .38 in a Bullitt style upside down shoulder holster. With these I wear either a vest or some kind a sport coat.

I have a wear and carry, but in my work environment I have to be very discrete.

I carry a Sig P228 in 9mm with two extra magazines, why because this weapon has never failed after somewhere around 15K rounds. Gets cleaned about once every sixty days and it just works. Big plus is that I can shoot it very well, you really don't want to be the threat. Chris

Having escaped from the Gulag to WV where I can carry open or concealed, my preferred carry firearm (concealed) is the new Sig P365 in a Comp Tac Infidel Ultra Max IWB. I used to carry an M&P Shield which I liked very much but the P 365 is smaller, carries more rounds and in the Infidel is as close to invisible and comfortable at 4:00 as anything I've tried so far. Retrieval is quick, safe and effortless. The fact that it shoots as well or better than the Shield is another plus. I don't know if all this will hold true for a larger handgun, though.
If clothing is an issue for a special event or other reason, I also like my S&W Bodyguard in a DeSantis Super Fly pocket holster. Again, it is invisible, easy and safe to access and since it's in my pocket, it's very comfortable. Both guns have proven to be extremely reliable. I may have had a hiccup or two when I first got the P 365 but once a ran some rounds through it, it's been perfect. These have worked for me but as I used to tell my scuba students: I'll show you A way to dive, not THE way to dive, so your choices should be what work for you.

G43 mostly with a Vedder IWB and Nexbelt EDC belt. When I am feeling frisky(now that it is cooler wx), I'll tote the VP9 OWB in a Galco concealable.
Been carrying for over 20 LEO years. Carry for self defense of course. Carry 80% of the time and not just area specific.

G26 Gen4 in a Raven Morrigan on a Graith Specialist is my default.

So far it's been the best balance of capacity, concealability, and capability that I could find.

For the last several years, I carry a S&W Shield in .40.
Holster is a Galco "Stinger", worn at 4 o'clock.

In years past, Glock 19/23/26 or G30SF have been carried.
That G30SF is a fantastic pistol, but, it is FAT.

    Before that -
    Full size 1911; Combat Commander; S&W mdl 19 (4") or 66 (2-1/2").

I had several kydex holsters made, by a friend of my wife's cousin.
The guy is a Corrections Officer at a Federal Prison and does this on the side.
    (I thought i had a photo on this computer. I don't.)

This guy makes some NICE kydex holsters.
I bought one for my son-in-law, and his department/agency approved it for off-duty carry. VERY secure.

I've been carrying since 2012 when I moved back to VA.

90% of the time, I carry a Glock 19 IWB in a Bravo Concealment holster.

    When it's really hot and I'm in shorts/t-shirt, I carry a gen 1 M&P Shield 9 in a Gcode IWB holster.

I carry a M&P 45 Compact. I love M&Ps and shoot well with them. I carry IWB. Only when I'm outside of the iron curtain though.

I was really really toying with the shield 2.0 and the 380 Shield EZ a week ago, mainly because they're far thinner than the 45 and easier to conceal.
