Well to make a long story short since I wasn't allowed to check the cylinder, lock up and timing on the colt python I was going to buy yesterday for a ton of money. I went and said hi to Bob down at MD ReloadR and left with a new complete dillion 650 set up. Money well spent and now I have a 650 for pistol and 650 for 223. I love my dillions!

Congrats on a great investment! I love my Dillon 550. I've often considered adding a 650. The 550 just seems like it gives me just that extra bit of control over the process. I do appreciate the manual indexing of the 550 and caliber changes are a breeze. I do hate changing primer sizes, so that alone will probably lead me to another Dillon.

Wow, two 650s is a lot of hardware. I have considered a 1050 to go with my 650 just to add a swaging station but I just don’t have the bench space in my reloading room. I can’t justify completely switching to the 1050 because I have so much money in caliber setups for the 650.

I thought about the 1050 but went with a 2nd 650 for rifles. I’m getting lazy in my old age and my youngest son(13) has a thing fotr shooting 9mm. So he can reload on that while I reload 223 on the other press.

I have both 1050 and 650 and you made the right choice. The 1050 we use to run bulk pistol but it is finicky when you caliber change so I don’t do caliber changes with it very often. Plus the 1050 warranty isn’t as good as the 650. If I buy another press it will be another 650. Have fun!!

If I added another blue press, I would think long and hard about a 550 to pair with my 650.

It will load some cartridges the 650 cannot handle. And has some other benefits (easily run single stage).

I thought about a 550. I still have my single stage press. With my 3 sons all into shooting and loving the evil black gun I went with the 650.

I can see two 650s also.

But if you want to load some longer/larger rounds, the 550 will do them where the 650 may not.

I need to find someone with a 1050 set up for 9mm, to process some brass.

I have a LOT of once fired, mil 9mm.
