Carlos did a fantastic job on this. I was not a huge fan of using green but the distressed zombie green job he did is damn good. This is my 3rd project done by him. The subtle green splatter on the barrel is a great detail.

Nah just use the Cerakote for optics, it doesn't need to be baked.

Honestly, I would stay far away. Best practice seems to be leaving the SB Tactical braces, for example, unmodified.

If you go with a plain buffer, I don't see the harm. If you go Sign brace, as rtrhun said, I'd stay away from that.

SB PDW braces have cheek risers built in, but they are ATF approved devices.
