I've been receiving "give us your money" solicitations from various D organizations, probably as a result of sending SB281 complaint letters to Senators and Legislators. I found this one particularly amusing, as the Liberal position is founded on keeping the populace dependent and afraid. I half expected Mr. Ftitts to close with "but, but, but ... they can't do that! The Wave of Fear{tm} is our schtick!"

    Migraineman --

The extremists who organized the Colorado recalls have never hidden their true intentions. Over Labor Day, the man who started the recall against Angela Giron even published an official op-ed boasting that “A wave of fear is exactly what we want.”

Here’s the thing: The “wave of fear” right-wing groups want to create isn’t for Colorado. They want a wave of fear in Maryland and across the country. They want all of us to live in fear because of the gun lobby’s power.

We have one week left to stop the right’s “wave of fear” in Colorado and across the country – please make a final donation of $10 or more before Election Day!

This “wave of fear” strategy is what makes the GOP’s actions in Colorado so outrageous. They’re not making an argument; they’re not trying to win over swing voters or convince lawmakers that they’re right.

These right-wing groups are trying to govern America through fear and intimidation – and they’re proud of it!

We must defeat these extreme tactics on September 10th and prevent them from spreading across the country – please contribute while there’s still time to make a difference!

If “wave of fear” politics succeed in Colorado, Maryland could be next – thank you for helping Democrats win that fight right here, right now.

    Sincerely,

    Kurt Fritts
    National Political Director
    The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee

P.S. Election Day is less than a week away – please donate as soon as possible to make sure your contribution is available immediately to defend Democrats like Sens. Morse and Giron who've come under attack across the country.

There are some great examples of debate tactics here:

Demonize your opponents - "The extremists who organized the Colorado recalls"
Quote opponent out of context - “A wave of fear is exactly what we want.”
Shift the focus off-topic - "They want all of us to live in fear because of the gun lobby’s power."
Claim to be the victim - "This “wave of fear” strategy is ... outrageous."
Demonize again - "These right-wing groups are trying to govern America through fear and intimidation"
Ridicule opponent - "and they’re proud of it!"
Bandwagon cheerleader with an impending deadline - "We must defeat these extreme tactics on September 10th"
Noble goal - "and prevent them from spreading across the country"
Emphasize the impending deadline - "while there’s still time to make a difference!"
Add another threat - "If “wave of fear” politics succeed in Colorado, Maryland could be next"
And finish by taking the moral high ground - "thank you for helping Democrats win that fight right here, right now."
Postscript with a victim reminder - "to defend Democrats like Sens. Morse and Giron who've come under attack across the country. "

They are afraid of CO. Really afraid.

    They should be

Not only over recall elections but the move to create a new state of North Colorado.

a county in Northern Cali just voted to secede from Commifornia in the last couple days.......things are getting interesting and the libs are losing control

And they should be. If both efforts succeed, it'll go a long way toward convincing politicians who are on the fence, not to go anywhere near gun control.

Anyone have input on the best avenue for donation in the two recall efforts? Directly to the challengers' web pages, SAF, GOA, NRA-ILA... other?

Alinsky tactics ... right from his book.

And then they have a Nanny Pelosi wanna-be represnting them ...

Colorado Democrat: Legislature, not guns, will keep you safe
    Self-defense argument dismissed as ‘frivolous’

State Sen. Greg Brophy, a candidate for the 2014 GOP gubernatorial nomination, said Mrs. Hullinghorst’s stance “speaks volumes about the Democratic agenda on guns.”

“Unbelievably naive from a citizen. Absolutely dangerous from an elected official and leader of the Democratic Party in Colorado,” Mr. Brophy told Colorado Peak Politics.

Colorado House Majority Leader Dickey Lee Hullinghorst may have adopted the ‘Nancy Pelosi Method of Logic and Deductive Reasoning’. However, she DOES have an apropos first name … “Dickey”.
