Love all the blades. May as well join in the fun with my latest acquisition...

Microtech SBK, production version of the custom made by Sebastijan Berengi of Borka Blades. The M390 steel blade is very sharp and pointy.

Like the blade geometry and the blade steel. Very nice.

Reminded me of a Russian made hunting knife that I picked up for a friend recently (not the same price range as yours) with a similar albeit less exaggerated Bowie-esque blade design. The Caspian Hunter by Kizlyar Supreme - comes beard-shaving sharp, with a mid-level blade steel (Aus-8) that can be easily resharpened, and a more primitive aesthetic (e.g. hardwood grips) ...

I like the look of the Caspian Hunter. And you make me chuckle at the price range comment- I grabbed the production piece because the customs were way out of my range. Especially the Damascus model!

Benchmade or Microtech. No education needed sticking with those two brands. Benchmade is more affordable. Microtech has a zillion different models and colors. Definitely more exotic and expensive. Iirc Benchmade will do sharpening and maintenance for free.
