Went to the Frederick show yesterday and found 2 good shotguns for a very reasonable price.
First one was a 1948 Browning A5 that is in unbelievable condition for its age, few hunting dings in the wood and 100% bluing.
Was paying for the A5 and the seller asked if I had any interest in a very nice Remington 11-87 Sporting Clays shotgun, it is in little used condition with hard case and 5 chokes.
Added the Remington to the Fed form and went home with both.

I have my dad's 1948 A5, same thing with perfect metal and a few hunting dings and scratches. Dad's has a solid rib and polychoke.

    They are great shotguns

Very nice, old school A5 at that. As a Remington fanboy from way back I’m digging the Sporting Clays 11-87 too. Good day at the Fairgrounds it seems.

Thanks for everyone's comments, I am pretty happy with both pick ups. I bought the A5 for my brother, he has had me looking for a good one for him for about a year, this one qualifies as a real good one.

Very nice Yard Machines splitter. Looks just like my dad's. The A-5 looks like my dad's too, which resides in my safe now. Belgium or Japan on the A-5? Regardless, nice looking gun. Have not shot an 1187. Probably never will.

I don't like shooting the A-5 nowadays, but seeing it always brings a tear to my eye and it always reminds me of this photo, which I think you have seen before, and how that entire day went. Hope your brother enjoys the hell out of that A-5 and makes some memories like I have with my dad's. First 12 gauge I have ever shot. Now, I am crying. What the hell. Time to get back to work and misery.
