I really like my Ruger Single Six but as I'm getting older I need help for my aging eyes. I have a Burris Fastfire 3 that I use on my Ruger 22/45. I assume I would have to get the barrel tapped for a rail. Not sure how much that might cost.

    Would appreciate any suggestions.

my suggestion is to look at painting the sights because that can be undone. Otherwise sell/pass it one to kids or not shoot it.
Not sure how old it is but you will kill its value. But that is me and the collector in me. Your gun

Try something like a Crimson Trace Laser Grip or some such equivalent. No holes would need to be drilled and I doubt you'll need a gunsmith just to install
    some grips.

B square made a full length mount that tied into the front and rear sight locations. It looks pretty good but they have been out of production for a while now. They turn up now and then on ebay and gunbroker but not often.

There is a company called jackweigand.com that makes rails that fit in the rear sight slots of several revolvers. I know they do Blackhawks but don't know if they do single sixes.

I have one on my Taurus 44 tracker with a Burris Fast Fire III and it takes whatever you put in the chambers without an issue.
