    Hello all,

I've lurked for sometime but finally have a reason to post.

I intend to purchase an M1 Garand from the CMP and I live in AA County. My web searches seem to keep pointing towards handgun regulations, not rifles so I need some clarification.

    1. In Maryland, must the CMP ship to a licensed firearms dealer where I will take possession of my M1 or is it legal to ship it directly to my residence?

    2. Must I register the M1 with the MSP or is that only for handguns?

I apologize if this isn't the right sub-forum for these questions. Mods, please move if appropriate.

Long guns don’t need to be registered with MSP so don’t worry about that. The CMP is actually able to ship right to your door. I’m in AA County too. Glad to see another local Garand enthusiast!
