    Cinder blocks also shatter.

It seems Box 'O Truth is not doing new things.

But a real brick and block walls, as in with cement, would be interesting.

But if you really want bullet proof, at least pretty much so, you need poured concrete.

ICF styrofoam forms for concrete walls. https://buildblock.com/insulating-concrete-forms-icfs/ You build the house and pour it all and the foam stays for insulation. A bit different in construction for windows and electrical outlets on outside walls.

Security gardening works well. Knockout rose bushes and blackberry plants are beautiful and tasty. If there is room Hawthorn trees are a nice flowering landscaping feature and one can stash the pruned tree limbs next to the house. If no green thumb inclinations, just let some green briar take over the area by the house.

Depends on what they got shot with. A full metal jacket rifle round of reasonable caliber goes through a LOT of wood. 8" logs certainly won't stop much. Pistol rounds for the most part, that is about it.

Notice from the table, .30-06 at 200 yards, against brick is 4.3 - 6.5"

How wide is a brick???? :D
