Has anyone checked the streams yet for spawning activity? Usually I take a stroll near the Nanticoke or Marshyhope to have a look but haven't had time to do it. Anyone had a look?
Big splashes that I assume are Rocks in the creek so yes.
What pisses me off is the commercial Menhaden/Alewife gill netting in Deltaville, VA that is making catfood out of our bait stock. These folks need to be shut down and you will see a rebound in fish stocks.
I've also seen a bunch of bunch of folks casting bucktails in the creek. God help them if I see them put a Rock in a box. They are not supposed to be fishing in these closed waters until Summer.

We released one 25ish" fish. That was about it. No other pull-downs.
Not sure if I'll get back out this trophy season. Work is beginning to pick back up.
I will definitely be booking at least one trip out with Chris on the 'Teaser' come summertime. Anyone else interested in an MDS trip this summer, I'd be happy to fill a spot.
We had 1 that we released at 32” today. No other pull downs. Two boats in the marina had 1 keeper each. A number of others didn’t have a touch today.
I’m going out on Monday with a group from work. Looks like i’m in for a nice boat ride

Heading out Saturday at 5AM. They have been doing pretty well for themselves on the boat and we have seen some monsters that they have landed recently. Course thats why its called fishing and not catching.
Better check the marine weather forecast. Gale warning posted this morning 0600 through tomorrow 1400. Tomorrow winds predicted to be gusting up to 40 knots.

Crushed it out of Solomons today even with the wind and chop. Took home 5 over 40 inches and lost a BIG one at the boat that would have had us hit the limit. Also threw back 2 or 3 shorts by a hair. Thats me with my beard flying with the wind on the right, I got the longest at 46 inches but it wasn't as chunky as the 42s or the 41.
