If you plan on "bugging out" weight, size and ease of procuring ammo matter. If you hunker down why grab just one...the whole safe and ammo room are already here with me. I'm bugging in with my tool box.

"Survival" type situation I would go with my Takedown 10/22 and a brick of ammo, and either my sig P320 compact with all my magazines or one of my .22LR pistols.

"SHTF" type situation probably my P320 compact and one of my FN Carbine sized AR15's with all my magazines for each and maybe a few extra boxes of ammo for each.

    How much S?
How big is the F, and which way is it pointing?
How much time do I have to choose?

Sort of like asking me; You have a job to do, which tool do you grab?

My long gun of choice is a 12 gauge, single shot break action. My current everyday carry pistol is a Glock 22 with a .357 SIG barrel in it. I keep a Glock .40 S&W barrel along with a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel in a bag in the car.

Pick the one that's most reliable. Of your two, the AR-15 has the advantage of lighter weight if you're going to be moving.

Personally I will be staying home. The heads on pikes will encourage the rioters to go away.

AR. Readily available ammo. Interchangeable parts. Good for mid-sized game, and predators.

I don't know. If I am staying put, my Vepr 308 has the range and power to fend off some baddies. IF I have to travel, maybe my paratrooper SKS for simplicity, or my AR15 and supporting uppers. I have 7.62x39, 6.5G, 5.56, and .22lr uppers, so a wife variety of ammo I could utilize. Hopefully soon to have a 9mm upper. I dunno hough, hard to choose.

If we are talking Book of Eli type stuff I would say Most common 9mm pistol you have, Beretta, Glock, SW, Springfield probably good bet you will come across those guns if you need parts, 9mm being the most abundant handgun round. AR15 in 556 even if I come across a Gas piston AR a lot of the parts can still be cannablized. My 300 Blk AR because most of the parts are the same even down to mags, and 12 gauge Mossberg 590

I'd go with 223...much more common place to scrouge ammo if that is a concern of yours.

Ammo is going to be more scarce than food. I do not believe finding available ammo is realistic.

I would take the Ares SCR (AR-type) because I have more .223 than any other caliber.

Correct. Not a very clear or specific question.

    -Natural disaster?
    -ID epidemic?
    -CMP/CME?
    -Local, national?
    -Bugging out or in?
