Not as easy it looks and requires an uncommon tool that is so hard to find that gunsmiths end up making their own tool.

Yup, some manufacturers Locktite the crap out of it for some reason. If you make your own tool by cutting a slot out of a screwdriver, it can make it easier. Go slow so you don't end up having to drill it out or something.

If it has loctite in the threads... applying the tip of a good soldering iron to the button side end of the extractor threads will heat/melt the loctite for more ease of removal.
Be careful with the heat and hot parts.
