Are they focusing on this, or trying to get the stimulus package through?

    Q

I heard rumblings last night that the house is trying to add HB 5717 to one of the financial Stimulus bills. Any else here this?

This guy (never saw any of his videos before, don't know how accurate he is) says an "informant" in congress told him they are trying to slip part of 5717 into the 4th stimulus bill, but he says he is having a hard time finding info.

I hope the Justices on the Supreme Court (or their Clerks) noted how Americans valued their 2A rights during the past few weeks. It's the purist way they could demonstrate it.

In a time of trouble, ordinary folks sought to protect themselves when they feared the government would be overstretched dealing with the pandemic and likely also affected by it.

And what have they done? Have they used the firearms to commit crimes or harm others? No. After buying whatever provisions they thought important, they are the ones that socially distanced and have done what the government has asked of them. They are the ones that would be prevented from buying a shotgun in an urgent situation in their life or for the nation by a licensing scheme (don't have a license, once the government is functioning again, it will take about 30 days to get one). They are the ones that would be financially hit by 30% firearms taxes and 50% ammo taxes.

By not taking cases to reaffirm Heller, the previous Supreme Courts signaled disinterest in the protection of the Second Amendment. I do hope in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. City of New York the Supreme Court gets rid of this ambiguity.

Antigunners are already trotting out a bullsh1t line that this is the absolute worse time to reaffirm the individual right in 2A (as all rights were in the so-called Bill of Rights - they are the rights of the people, which includes the right of a person) ...

He's wrong. At a time when government is restricting the movement and assembly of people, it's the best time to remind government that the right to buy a firearm without being delayed or impeded, the right to defend one's home especially during a time of a national emergency when people are practically restricted to their homes, and the right to transport a firearm to your home is the right of the people, especially in a government given its power and legitimacy through their consent.

Latest Action: House - 03/10/2020 Referred to the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security.

Might be a while for this gets any movement. With it being in a subcommittee that isn't meeting and an election coming up can't see how this comes out. Surely won't get past cocaine mitch in the senate.

Bump for those that had not seen this thread. Still no movement on the bill since March 10.

The dems are waiting until after the election, hoping that the government becomes completely dem controlled.

If this happens, see how fast they act on it.

this is what keeps me awake at night

This is what drives me crazy. The democrats actually do things when they have control , unlike the gop that does nothing when they have control. Gop with full control= not a damn thing For us. Democrats get control= we will get a full gun ban attempt for all non bolt action or revolver firearms.
