Sounds like there is a lot more to this story.

It is surprising DC would let an off duty cop from another jurisdiction carry.

Hopefully the bystanders injuries are not too bad and she gets well soon.

Off duty LE can carry nationwide. All part of HR-218 from around 2004.

Since 2004. They still can't carry in places like the White House and Capitol, but they're allowed to either check their guns or just leave.
