going to be traveling to Dallas in july. Anyone know of a good spot to take teh LTC instuction? looking to get the non res. Will need to also rent a firearm at same time.

I went to the Texas Handgun Academy (10201 Plano Road, Dallas TX) and was able to redeem a Groupon deal for $60. It was an additional $40 to rent a Glock 17, with all the ammo needed included in that price. The class was waaaaay overcrowded and not all the organized, but it's also the cheapest price in town and at the end of the day I just wanted my TX permit. Just get there early so you'll have a seat.
You'll also have to schedule your fingerprints at a Morphotrust location - there are plenty to choose from. Just pick one off the list that's provided when you complete your application with the Texas DPS
