As to the question about 5.56 ammo-Check out Midway USA- IMI FMJ @ .24 rd Delivered or 62 gr Green Tip @ .26 rd Delivered (1200 rd case prices) you will pay at least about 10 cents a rd more at any show.

Thinking about going, how's it compare to Chantilly? Same?

I would say slightly smaller than Chantilly. Not a bad show, there's a good variety of different things. Prices can vary a bit, though. Also, be wary of dealers that will not sell MD-legal guns to Marylanders (like M1 Carbines without mags). Happened to my brother in law, who was told "I don't have time to keep up with the laws in your state." This was even after we pulled up the law/infringements of 2013 from the MD.gov website and showed were M1 Carbines were explicitly not banned.

I prefer this show to most in MD, though. Higher gun to jerky/sock ratio.

I was disappointed with the last Gettysburg show, in that the pickle guys weren't there. Fortunately, I was able to pick up the gun oriented items off of my list with relative ease. :)

Gee, I wonder if anyone will be selling 10 round AR, M1A1 & M1 Carbine magazines? :sad20: Wouldn't it be nice if someone took 20 round & 30 round trade-ins from Marylanders? (Yes, I'm a pessimist: I have absolutely no faith in our Democrat, liberal, Maryland Legislature :mad54:). Sh*t, I've had some "high capacity" magazines for over half a century!

I am planning on making my first visit to the York show tomorrow. Any advice on parking, places to eat, good vendors to visit, etc.?

Also, it looks like there is a $1 off coupon here: http://www.thegunshows.com/show-sites/york-fairgrounds-toyota-arena/

Parking is free and plentiful (usually) and I would eat before you go as they will have the usual gunshow food, and of course there will be hot nuts to be had too. :lol2:
I will be going there tomorrow too. Its usually a decent show, better than the MD shows (IMHO).

    Hi,

If you go to the show first (they stamp your hand, so you can return), you can head out the main gate Northern most & farthest from the show buildings) onto Carlisle Ave. (Rt 74). Turn left on 74 and go about a mile or so, and at the second to last light before Route 30, left there are some places: A steak House (Rustler, Ponderosa?), Subway, Burger King ( I think), and a sandwich shop. If you go under 30, on the left is a Mickey Dee's, and something else (Maybe Wendy's?).

If you go East on 30, there are a number of restaurants & fast foods for the next couple miles, but the traffic is always heavy.

My son & I always get a big soft pretzel at WaWa or one of those places on the way & carry a bottle of soda into the show. That holds us during the show, and we eat after we leave (if we have any money left). :party29:

Roburritos is right outside the fairgrounds on West Market St. If you like Chipotle-style Mexican, it's great.

If I come up does anyone need some ammo? :innocent0

I'm interested. Depending on what I find or don't find at the show, my fallback is spending the money on ammo.

Can someone give me directions on getting from Carlisle Ave into the complex? It has been a while since I was there last.

    Hi,

The Fair Grounds Complex is between Carlisle Ave (Rt 74), & Market Street (Rt 462), just west of Richland & Grantley streets (which run North/South).

If you come in from Carlisle, go South, all the way through the Complex (past the Toyota building, to the last building, almost to the Market Street entrance.

Will someone there be doing Maryland transfers? I'll be looking for a dedicated colt 9mm lower.
