Can you name your source on the 1944 dated Tikka M39's though? If its Doug Bowser's book I wouldn't believe that (it has numerous errors).
The reference to 1944 was a mistake. As far as I know, Tikka stopped making barrels in 1943. I wouldn't be surprised if one was out there, though.

Andy, yeah I figured it might be a typo. But with Finns you just never know until one shows up. Case in point the 1941 Civilian Sales M28/30 out there on a round receiver!

Oh, wait!!!! We can go totally by the book and say Tikka DID make barrels in '44 - but for the 91/30

The Tikka M39s have been slowly approaching the $2K range - which I find crazy.
But I have two I paid about $400 each for, so I'm quite happy

I have a 1944 Tikka M91/30 for which I paid $220. It came with no hand guard or rear band and a mismatched but Finn-matched bolt. I paid like $19 for a hand guard and $20 for a band. Iím pretty happy.

Yes, it's one of three known 1926 dated Tikka M39's: 686, 4058, 5151

On average based off the figures in my database, over $1.5 each. 1940 and 1941 are the least common outside of 1926 (with 11x known examples each). There are 25x 1942 dated examples, and 38x 1943 dated examples. Additionally, four of the 1941 dated examples are PL marked as well(!).

Here is a nice illustration of the price change that has occurred in the last couple years:

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/753221017

According to my database, this example:

Sold for $705 on Gunbroker on 12/14/15. Sold by sreisel to Viking1911

Sold for $1,876 on Gunbroker on 3/11/18. Sold by Viking1911 to painter*

That's a nice profit for whoever Viking1911 is!
