I bought a left hand complete upper. I tried to remove the barrel so I could put a different hanguard on the rifle. I could not get the barrel nut to budge. My gunsmith could not get the barrel nut to budge. I damaged the receiver in my attempts to remove the barrel nut. I called Stag Arms and was told they build rifles NOT to be disassembled by the owners. Curious statement about 'lego' guns.
They also would not sell me a replacement upper receiver since I damaged mine. I did not expect them to replace my upper receiver since I caused the damage. But to not sell me a replacement is poor customer service.
I will not do business with Stag Arms ever again.
If you buy an AR15 to customize for your preferences, do not buy a Stag Arms.

I spoke with Stag Arms about this very topic.

Customer service told me they apply a "Sealant" to the threads. Was told it is in no way a Loc-Tite type of adhesive.

Was also told it should not prevent unscrewing the Delta Ring.

They suggested a very mild application of heat to soften the sealant.

I think I have a striped left handed upper. Not a stag, but it will work. Send me a PM to discuss. I'll look for it this evening.

I've had no issues taking apart quite a few of Stag's uppers, lefty's and righty's.

Over the past 6 years, I think there was 1 or 2 I had to hit with a MAPP gas torch to get the barrel nuts to break loose.
