I've got an old riverside sxs that I picked up at auction a few years ago. I'm getting ready to re-stock it as the old stock developed a chip at the head last time I was out shooting.

The lever is currently also pointing slightly to the shooter's left when the action is locked. There's no wiggle, no gaps, etc. It's seamless when closed. However, when reading info online, everyone says that the lever should point to the right, or straight down when closed and that a left-leaning lever is a sign of wear. Is this always the case?

Any info is greatly appreciated! I want to keep this one shooting as long as possible. Thanks!
