    Those are $800 gen 1 commercial goggles. Most likely eastern european or Russian made. When they break in a couple years you wont be able to find replacement parts. They use a non standard proprietary mounting system.

    You will never be happy with gen 1 if youve ever looked through something better.

    There's used gen 2 stuff in that price range. And legit used gen 3 available for about double. They will be in mil spec housings and have spare parts available for decades, use mostly standard mil spec mounts, and peform much better.

    Thanks for the info Jaybeez...I'd like to someday get a pair of NVGs...but I need to learn more about them before I do....s

    Sniper's hide and ar15.com both have excellent night vision forums. Hide's has more vendors, which reduces the number of technical threads, ar15's is the opposite.

    Both are probably the best civilian resources on NV (in the US).
