+1 You only need to prove it was sent not prove it was received. Even if the BATFE sent it back to you unopened you still sent your application before October 1st.

This is what I got today:

Mr. Xxxxxxx,

ATF's position regarding Maryland’s new law is posted on our public website in a Special Advisory issued by our Office of Public Affairs. I have included a hyperlink to the advisory for your convenience below.

https://www.atf.gov/news/pr/maryland...ger-activators

I trust this advisory clarifies ATF’s authority and your submission is therefore returned without action. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance by contacting us at (202)648-7190 or FIPB@atf.gov.

Regards,

Helen Koppe
Firearms Enforcement Specialist
Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives

----------------------------------------------------

So I'm just going to keep it in my file box. I figured this is what is going to come out of it.

CYA accomplished.

Sigh.

Still, we will see. I had one of the Republican reps in the MD house tell me that when he voted "yes" for this bill that it was because "the ATF is going to ban them anyways before the bill takes effect."

Too bad none of the other R's who voted for the bill bothered to actually read it first, to see what other "goodies" got snuck in by the D sponsor.
