Anyone know of rental cabins that include areas where we can shoot some basic firearms? I've been to one with a fishing lake, how about one with a home range?

I know there are some areas that rent the area out just for the day, but I'm looking for somewhere I can bring some family and spend a couple of nights by ourselves.

    In the boonies of MoCo
WV has tons of FREE public ranges run by the state: https://www.wvdnr.gov/Hunting/SRanges.shtm

Look for ones in a region you'd want to visit and then look for a rental nearby.

For example, Kumbrabow State Forest has a 100yd range with 8 covered benches and lanes and also has "pioneer" cabins that don't have electricity or running water but do have gas lights, a gas fridge, and a stove. A bathhouse for toilets and showers located a bit away from the cabin area (in the campground area) and they also have vault toilets (read: fancy outhouses) near the cabins. https://wvstateparks.com/places-to-stay/cabins/kumbrabow-state-forest-cabins/

If you want something nicer, you can stay at Stonewall Jackson Resort and use the range at the WMA just up the road. The range is located at: 38.93106317456113, -80.48457098443339 and is 300 yards with covered benches. The resort has both a lodge and cabins and all the amenities you could want: https://www.stonewallresort.com/ We stayed there this summer and really enjoyed it. The resort also has a sporting clays setup located a bit up the road which can be booked through their front desk.

I keep looking at this place for a get away but I haven’t been there. In WV on the Hatfield and McCoy trails. 125yd shooting range (really more of a cleared space with a target from the pics/videos I found online). ATV trails, fishing pond, nice cabin and quite a few acres all to yourself.

Going to be hard to find if you are talking something like an airbandb. For liability sake you probably aren’t going to find anything easily where a person is renting out a cabin and land and something like shooting would be permissible.

Not saying you won’t be able to find anything, but you are probably going to be really hard pressed. There are some places you could rent by a public/private range and a few private ranges, clays, etc. where you can stay on the property and use the ranges and clay fields and stuff.

Now there are plenty of cabins you could rent on several to many acres of land in areas that plenty of people are shooting on their land and what not. But unless the landlord is specifically saying it’s okay, not a great idea to do. They catch wind and didn’t give express permission they might well kick you out or discovered after the fact lose your security deposit. They also might not care or give your grief if you didn’t clean up really well after yourself.

This place is perfect, although a bit $$ if we're just bringing 4 people. Thanks for the info!
