google is your friend, I am not.
Unions are concerned with salaries and WORKING CONDITIONS, which would explain their stance, legal or not. I don't blame the union for trying, because as mentioned, their leaders are elected, and he may be doing what the rank and file wants, legal or not.

So rank and file police support gun control and illegal emergency suspension of the constitution??? Good to know!

I believe I heard that the New Black Panthers are going to protest at the convention and they will be carrying weapons. Then you add in the Bikers and there could be an explosive display like no 4th of July celebration will ever match. You can't suspend the Constitution, so it's going to be a very rough few days for the peace officers assigned to keep the peace.

One question. Does this statute pertain to just Ohio residence or anyone traveling through the state that is not an Ohio resident?

Black Panthers exercising 2nd A in California in the 60's led to the Mulford Act which ended open carry in California. Mulford wrote the bill, it passed and Ronald Regan signed it into law.

I'm 99 percent sure the OC law applies to everyone who isn't a prohibited person.

Not saying you should. And I didn't say it was specific to the convention. but since the topic is carry at a convention, I thought it prudent to mention CCW and OC laws there as well.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding what the union has requested. The way I read it they want the entire state to not be able to OC during the convention and that's why the Governor has denied the request.

And Kasich gave the correct repsonse. "I cannot suspend a constitutional right"

Let's see what the libs try in Philly.

Yes he did. I think we are on the same page but may look at it from a different angle. "Great minds think alike from different directions"

Panthers carrying guns ALSO was a large factor in the democratic leadership at the time passing GCA in a hurry. What demographic was buying all those mail order "Saturday night specials"?

So much of a hurry they simply took the Nazi weapons law of 1938, translated it with some minor differences and voted on it before the ink had dried.

True story. Look it up. A Senator name of Dodd (Chris Dodd's father), former JAG officer at the Nürnberg trials knew how effective this law was and had a Library of Congress translation in hand in short order.

Think the same thing can't happen again? With THIS congress? They've done a good job of holding out on this one issue - pretty much folding like cheap picnic benches under great aunt Sally's derriere on everything else - but if things turn ugly in Cleveland (or Filthydelphia), you bet they'll "do the right thing" and damn the reelection.

    Nope, he supports AW ban.

No more than the presumptuous republican nominee.

He has signed most pro-gun bills the OH legislature sent to him. We have a record to judge him on.

I respectfully disagree. While in Congress John Kasich voted for the 1994 AW ban and it only passed the house by a 2 vote margin.

So ? Trump was for the AW ban. Before he was against it. Or after he was against it. Nobody can really tell.

If you want to see the 2nd amendment traded for a tax cut, vote Trump.

I understand your sentiment, but along the same lines, if you want to see the 2nd Amendment thrown under the bus with no trade, vote Hillary.
