I was wondering if any of you have a friendly handyman that you trust in the Montgomery County area. I have a couple roof shingles that fell off, would like an outlet box installed on the exterior of the house, and a deck that needs a couple planks replaced.

*Edit* Just wanted to let you know that I went with Brandon and I was happy with his work and professionalism.

    Absolutely Yes!!

Call Brandon Fox, who runs Red Fox Handyman, he is licensed, insured, bonded. Brandon is a neighbor and a friend and lives in Kensington. He is a young guy, but he does excellent work and is very friendly and easy to work with. Everyone who has hired him in our neighborhood raves about him.

And as an extra bonus, he is currently in the U.S. Navy Reserves, after having served on active duty around the world as a U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewman (SWIC). Those are the specialist who after having gone through SEAL-like training, are responsible for operating the small water craft that are used to infil and exfil Navy Seals and other special operations so that they can do their thing.

You can reach him at 707-293-5432.

Thanks for the referral PFlyer! I found someone else on Google/Yelp and had them stop by the other day to give me an estimate and was about to have him do the work, but it does seem a little high, so I just called Brandon to stop by for a second estimate. Veteran owned (and Navy) is also a plus in my books ;)

Also talk to Brad Sligh. His company is Yellow Van Handyman. (240)286-8691

Good guy, ex Marine, has a crew so he can tackle bigger jobs if necessary.

Damn, I never thought I'd be here,

caught between a neighbor who is a Marine veteran and a neighbor who is a SWIC.

Both good guys, You can't go wrong either way. Folks here have used Brad for years, and so as rgramjet says, he has the connections for big jobs.

And as for Google + Yelp, well I'll leave that for another conversation. A trip to HoCo to speak with coyotes might be involved . . . .
