Started life as a solvent trap. I have 6 "solvent trap" suppressors and I've learned a lot making them. Everyone is always surprised how effective they are considering the short form 1 wait times and much cheaper "solvent trap" prices. I have $500 total (including tax stamp) in my 45-70 can.

Can you tell me which trap?

Can you tell me which trap?

It was from Medlining Machine Works. Their stuff is perfect for just about any Subsonic load and depending on your blast chamber size they can also handle some decent higher pressure rifle rounds. If you want to build a can that can handle anything you can throw at it I'd suggest a titanium build or carbon steel.

That is pretty cool. The Bowers VERS 50 is on my list of things to get which is a similar size. A form 1 22lr can has been on my todo list but I am not sure I would trust a diy threaded together can with a full size rifle. How do you determine the safe pressure and do you proof test it with a hot load?

There are tons of solvent trap suppliers but only a handful I trust when it comes to the higher pressure rifle rounds. When I'm building a form 1 I usually have a particular rifle/round in mind that I'm hoping to suppress and from that I decide if I'll need an aluminum, titanium or carbon steel "solvent trap". Then I decide what style cones would best suppress the round (60°, 50°, radial or K baffle) and the material they should be made from (aluminum, stainless, titanium).

Once all the parts arrive I decide my blast chamber size and get everything assembled. Then I use an alignment rod to make sure the rifle bore lines up with the new suppressor. Then I test fire.

That is a nice looking gun!

That thing is sweet. I hear those are hard to find.

thanks, yes on hard to find. only made for a couple years I think and out of production for a few years now. I paid too much, but found it on gunbroker as NOS from some dealer up north. I liked the flashier jurassic park version with the bright stainless and grey laminate stock, but when I saw this one I was hooked, I like the blackened stainless and green stock for hunting. didn't want to lose the use of the fiber optic sights, so I used see through rings like I have on my old 30-30, and a simple fixed 7x scope. found a guy on ebay that makes the paracord slings, talked to him and he sent me some extra matching cord so I could wrap my lever, for me, it's setup just about perfect, and has become one of my favorites.

Incoming - Got a little carried away bidding on Gun Broker and ended up with two. Both JM stamped. A never-been-fired NIB 1895GS from Alaska and a lightly used 1895G from Pennsylvania. Oh well - double the fun. Ranger Point sights already ordered. Picking up 1895G Tuesday and the 1895GS is being shipped now.
