I currently have a Tikka T3 lite in .223. The plan was to put on a Proof Research prefit carbon fiber barrel. Cost is $830 plus install...$100?

    OR

I saw that Europtic has Tikka T3x .223 CTRs in stock for a $1000.

So which option should I go with? I like the Proof barrel because of the weight savings but the CTR has a 10 rd DBM and the T3x improvements . Either way I would upgrade to a new stock.

Personal preference really. I think the T3 lite has a slightly longer barrel than the CTR(20"). The factory Tikka barrels i've shot and seen all shoot well.

You can get a decent stock for the Lite for $300-500, plus $200 or so for BM.

You can also rebarrel the rifle using a savage barrel nut system. A new barrel and nut from patriot valley arms is 415 ish. They are good barrels and let you customize what you want more than your other two options
