Torqued the barrel nut too much and now the gas port is off by 90 degrees? I think I see part of a burst pack in the lower...
Over twerking your barrel nut can cause a premature family enlargement. :nono:

Is your muzzle break timed correctly? It looks as if you have the gas ports straight up and down. Also, your mag release looks like it needs to be adjusted. The screw should be flush or almost flush with the button for optimal thread engagement.

Yes sir. I changed the muzzle break . The one on the firearm was just hand tightened for the photo. I did tend to the mag release,
thanks I appreciate the looking out .:thumbsup:

My 1st and entry level build

this is my first ar15 chambered In 556 build. It came out nicely and shoots good at max 100yards as i haven't tried it in long ranges due to can not find a long range location that accept walk ins, non member and within harford county reach.
It was a great opportunity to learn about the platform better than buying one over the counter.

DD Mk 18 just where I want it for now-- adding the Geissele SSA over the stock MILSPEC trigger made a world of difference.

Be careful when freehand firing on that stngr handguard. The cut outs are too big imo and are very easy for a finger to fall into when firing. That barrel will be hot to the touch !!!

I used magpul’s m-lok rail guards to help keep my hand out a bit more.
