Back when I did some extra/background acting, the SAG rate was around $200 dollars per day. Speaking/featured roles are higher, but that can vary pretty wildly.

Since they want this guy to look the part then I'm assuming this is more than a tech advisor position but it's got to be easier to teach an actor to play a sniper than to teach a sniper to be an actor.
