Not sure if our clothes washer is completely broken, or just needs a repair. It sounded out of balance, but when I checked, the innards that the drum sits in seems to be free floating. Not sure if that just needs to be reattached, or it’s shot. If anyone knows a guy to check it out, it would be appreciated. Located in Elkridge. TIA

We have an LG frontloader and a couple years ago the plastic female spline on the drive wheel stripped out. It was a pretty easy repair.

It's common for the part known as the "spider" and the associated bearings to break or wear out. It's not a difficult job skill wise, but in general it requires tearing down most of the washer and is time consuming.
