Governor Hogan wrote a letter to AG Frosh directing him to:
... independently investigate and prosecute criminal suits alleging violations of State criminal laws that relate to any of the following offenses in which any element of the crime occurs within Baltimore City: crimes of violence; crimes related to firearms; and organized crime.

In an interview, Frosh said he first learned about Hogan's directive not from the governor but through media reports. Nevertheless, he said his office stands ready to help.

However, he said the sort of work Hogan wants his office to do is outside the typical purview of the attorney general.

"We're happy to help. We'll work with the state's attorney. We'll work with the governor. We're going to need a lot more people based on what I can tell from his letter... but we're available to help," Frosh said. "It depends on how many cases they want us to handle."

He said he'd like to meet with Hogan to get a better sense of what he wants and convey his need for additional prosecutors and investigators.
Not surprisingly, Baron von Frosh sees this as an opportunity to expand his empire.

Where is that video of Frosh banging his head on the table in court, when you need it?

    lolololol.

not holding breath. "Enforcing the law" is not normally what Frosh's AGs office does. They only enforce the laws they want, against Republicans and legal law abiding gun owners.

It's pretty sad when the Governor has to send a letter to the AG to tell them to do their job. The other sad part of this is, these criminals will come to our county to get jailed and released in our streets when their time is up. Our county has been polluted with Baltimore/ Montgomery County's worst. I do want to see the wrist slapping stop. Arrest them bastages. This state is one of the most criminally friendly states in the country.

"Well, I could go after violent criminals in Baltimore… Or, and hear me out on this, I could sue the Trump administration for the 30th frivolous lawsuit using Maryland tax payer dollars." ~Brian Frosh

Considering that Frosh ran for re-election and easily won on the platform of “I will sue Trump as often as possible” I have a very strong suspicion that he will continue to do what he does while Baltimore burns to the ground. Likewise, he will continue to win re-election until he decides to retire. If Wolf wasn’t able to beat him, no one will.

Froshole won for the same reason the NY AG won, she pledged to “persecute, prosecute the Trump organization every way I can if elected”. And that’s exactly what she’s doing. Seems like targeted harassment to me. Froshole should do the job he was elected to do...serve the people of Marylinistan!!!

Frosh won because 1-voters in this state reflexively vote (D) regardless of how much corruption that they see; 2- the Republican AG's campaign was virtually nonexistent.

Unfortunately the MD legislature took the AG's office from under the authority of the Governor when the Republican (Hogan) was elected. Flush needs to go...

Umm...NO...The AG has always been an Independent Office from the Governor, since the AG is elected by the residents of Maryland and NOT appointed by the Governor.
