Per the request of Mawkie, here is my latest acquisition courtesy of a vendor at the MACA show on Saturday. An Egyptian Hakim, year produced not known to me. It has an absolutely beautiful stock but, sadly, the magazine (not shown) is a reproduction.

Regardless, with a good barrel and such a beautiful stock I found it to be a good choice to grab. I paid 590 out the door for it so I feel I got a decent deal out of it. Anyway, enjoy the few pictures I have:

    Edit: pictures fixed!

$590 is a good in my books. I routinely see them sell in the $650-750 range. And so many have rough stocks. Nice ones are much harder to find. Can't wait for the photos to post!

Looks good! That was a good price too. I would have bought another at that price.

Yeppers, nice stock! We just have to find you an original mag. Hopefully the fact that there are repop mags doesn't mean originals are unobtanium.

Nice pickup, and that’s a great price you paid for it.
The warning about the ear protection is true this thing is loud!
Also be careful not to get your fingers caught in the action, Garand thumb is nothing compared to this.

Oh I know about the action as I have a Ljungman (which is the predecessor rifle). These actions WILL take a finger off!

Also mawkie, pretty sure an original mag will pop up sooner or later for me to grab. For now, the aftermarket one will serve.

:party29:Good buy!!! I was looking at that rifle myself but I had my mind and wallet set on something else. She is a beautiful rifle. I'm glad someone picked it up.

Nice buy. Be ready to chase your brass. Mine dents it up and then kicks it out a country mile. I have a little rubber hose cover I made and put on the brass deflector (I guess that is what that is on the side) which helps a little.

I hear ya. It's a matter of patience and persistence. Something I'm on intimate terms with!

Great gun but it destroys brass and sends it into the next area code. Apparently they use to have rubber brass deflectors but they decayed or fell off?

Slitting a piece of rubber hose and gluing it on the deflector will stop the brass being dented. As for catching it, that's for tarps are for.

Try shooting full power 7.62x25 in a CZ52 and then finding the brass.

Great find OP! I have one with a refinished stock (I like the look of it a lot but it isn't going to fool anyone for original finish) but an original magazine. It is one of my favorite milsurps to take to the range. I think I paid $650 for mine (it's probably in a thread here somewhere tbh) from Victory Arms and felt like it was a good deal relative to what I had seen available and had time to shop for. As long as you get a reasonable price on a real magazine I think you got a fantastic deal.
