Well, begin at the beginning basically. There are sniper instructors somewhere so I thought it would be a good place to ask.
And yes, something I've wanted to pursue for a while now.

Btw, nothing shady, I'm up front about asking. Curious about the skills to be learned. What makes it a pretty odd question?
People wanting to be/learn how to be a sniper join the military and go that route. Long range shooting is another. Good luck in your quest.

The best "beginner sniper training " is USMC Basic Training . The best " advanced sniper training " is USMC Scout/ Sniper School .
Make sure to read through the getting prepared section of the Apple seed website. You will get much more out of the clinic if you already have the rifle sighted in and have the gear. If you need something make sure to let them know.
Learning to shoot is 1 thing. Learning to make a ghille suit, laying in your own piss for 3 days waiting to take a shot is another.

Normal course is 2 days. And you really want 2 days.
Day 1 to learn. Overnight to mull over what you learned. Day 2 to put it together, and learn more.
I know the 2 day would be better, just finding the time to do two days which will be more like 3 days with a couple overnights too.. I will see what I can work out, haven't signed up yet. Trying to get some others to go with me.
So my military buddy took a 30 day sniper course in Indiana? He was making 1,000 yard shots on moving targets. 300 WM was his choice of flying death.
