Simple fact is Trump and the NRA gave the Republicans cover to do this. Can't blame Hogan.

You guys will like the Dem more. or not.

Personally I am voting for Hogan and sent him money. I cannot hold him responsible since the NRA basically condoned it.

To be completely fair, the original versions of the bump stock ban and restraining orders were really horrible. They could have passed in that form, one way or the other. We did get very tight language in the bump stock ban, and the ERPO "Red flag" bill is much much better than the original version.

Sorry, this thinking is part of the problem. Just because NRA/Trump give you "cover" to compromise your principles doesn't mean you have to compromise your principles.

That what I've been told by my Rep, the NRA and WH have greenlite the bump stock bans. Batfe will have new letters out by the end of the year on them. Banned with grandfather clauses.

If a man can't stand on his principles regardless of party or politics, they're useless. If a man stands on his principles, and those principles blame objects for crimes and think laws will stop criminals and the mentally ill, they're useless.

This is nonsense. Antis are antis, regardless of the damned letter after their name. If Hogan signs these bills, and all indications are that he will, he will join a seemingly growing list of scummy politicians upon whom I wouldn't piss were they on fire.

Politicians don't have principles!

In any case, sometimes minimizing the damage is as good as it gets. I think if you compare what Florida passed with Republican support to what we passed, we are extremely blessed. No rifle ban. Our ERPO and bump stock language is extremely tight compared to that. In this state it could have been much much much worse. A significant amount of stupidity was beat back.

So are you saying Hogan has no ability to think for himself? That the NRA is somehow controlling him? Governor Hogan has shown himself to be no friend to the 2A community..It's extremely likely that he would have supported this even if the NRA had fought it. Your argument is moot. Our "Republican" gov is at best a RINO or maybe even a centrist democrat. You may fall for his charade but those of us who value our rights see right through him..

We got backstabbed in Florida by Republicans. The lesson I took from that is that its foolhardy to look to politicians to secure rights. The only thing that they are good for is to appoint judges with the spine to uphold the constitution. I am voting on taxes and some other things as a check on Mike and Mike.

Yes, Hogan is a RINO. In Western PA, the Dem Lamb who just won is to the right of Hogan. This is MD, and MoCo is as progressive socialist as it gets. Far worse than Philly. I have not fallen for any charade. If Hogan loses, the Dem will, and I guarantee you will hate what Mike Mike and Commienutz do even more. Commienutz has already promised free tuition to everyone.
