A friend passed away at 55 a few weeks ago.

His wife asked me (of all people) to help her find out about his guns and help her sell some to stay on top of expenses.
I like guns, but I'm no expert, at all.

Anyway, I knew enough about most guns I looked at, but this one is well beyond me.

It's a Winchester 52 (D, I think). Appears to be in very good shape. It's ridiculously heavy.

Sorry for crappy pictures. I was trying to hold the rifle and had a kid taking photos.

Any information is appreciated. Any guess on value? Any guess on where to get good info?

    Thanks.

From what I can see in the pics, it looks like it's a Winchester model 52D with a Unertl scope. Aftermarket adjustable butt assembly, hand riser and hand stop. Looks like he was a smallbore shooter.

Forum member Augie may know more, shoot him a PM.

So the Model 52 D (just the rifle) is listed as NIB $1377, Ex $976 and Gd $488 in 2015 Gun Trader Guide 37th Edition. That cross references well with Blue Book of Gun Values 2015 edition.

What power is the unertl? That has a lot to do with the value. 8x fetches a premium over the others (lot's of guys building 1941 sniper clones for CMP matches)
