It can be done. Maybe someone will bring a TIG welder and we may be able to fill those under folder holes for you... It all depends if a TIG welder is available.

I have an older Miller Syncrowave 180sd transformer machine. It's heavy and requires a 220v 30 amp service nearby. If no one has anything smaller, and you've got 220v in the garage, I'm happy to lug it down there.

My air compressor is on a 220v 50A dedicated circuit so we could use that outlet for awhile when someone isn't using the sand blaster cabinet. Looking at the outlet plate, it utilizes a regular size plug but the right blade is turned sideways.

The welder currently has a 4-wire 30amp dryer plug on it but we can easily switch that out. It sounds like the compressor receptacle may only be 20 amp. If we put a big load on the welder I'd be a little concerned about melting a 20 amp receptacle on a 50 amp circuit. With a small load we'd be okay.

I'll plan on bringing mine unless someone else has an inverter machine they can bring.

EDIT: I'm out. I can't do it that day. I've got a contractor coming to the house. If anyone wants to drive to cecil county, I can tig weld anything for you, and I've got most of the tooling to build an AK.

If my wife isn't in labor, and is in a state where I can leave for a couple hours:

I have a TIG machine that I'm comfortable with welding closed holes on sheetmetal. I shall bring it.

Do you have 100% Argon on-site already? If not, I'll bring that with me.

I have MIG gas, I forget the actual mixture.

I'd like to come out again. I just need some ejector work and test firing but otherwise just enjoy hanging out with fellow MDS shooters. TC617 has been extremely generous with his help over the past couple years. I can certainly help others with their builds in helping to demill or speed up their work where I can. I am certainly no expert but can handle a hammer or drill well enough!

I am suprised too. Usually these threads go 5-6 pages.

I will send everyone invitations and directions next week.

I want to be there, but can't - my Cub Scout Pack is running their annual "Scouting for Food" drive on the 5th and 12th. Hopefully there will be a future date when I can complete my glorious peoples' rifle.

Alright, where's Stevarado with a tool spread sheet? All though Tc has got all the tooling needed I could see everybody showing up with a BFH and waiting in line for a dremel

I have the trigger guard riveting jig so far, can bring that with me if it's needed. I can say it does a nice, clean job. Tooling wise, that's about it for me for now.

    Have that day off.

How many people could do this date if I hosted another build party on Saturday November 5th? With Veteran's Day being on a Friday, I may entertain Saturday November 12th if that works for more people.

I've covered it before in other posts... No new flats are to be formed unless you are building an AK pistol and the rear trunnion is riveted to the receiver before leaving or you have an approved Form 1 for a SBR or AOW. Anything built must abide by FSA'13 laws.

People who need help with any repairs or modifications (fixing canted sights, feed issues, switching trunions to accommodate different stocks) to an already built AK are welcome to attend.

I'll have my blast cabinet and parkerizing tanks running if you wish to refinish a previous build.

I would love to come but I know absolutely ZIP about AKs and builds. If I could trade some ammo and accessories for parts to build all the way from springs to shooting ready, then I would consider it. I even canvassed a friend with a bunch of rusty parts lying around just so that I could put one together, he said he was afraid that I would learn bad habits....

I'm in if for no other reason than to hang out and learn about AKs.

Hopefully you will offer the AK class again. I would like an opportunity to learn more about the AK. I am already scheduled to teach a class on 11/05/16 for MSRPA.
