Well, just curious. Sig 1911's do have a good track record in general. I have only read of one or two reliability issues with them. The slide profile (other than traditional series) is a preference number and holsters are out there. An improperly tuned extractor in any pistol is a nuisance, Sigs are generally very good.
As far as upgrades, extractor aside, what is not upgradable with after market 1911 parts? I replaced the grip safety because the stock sig 1911 gs profile is nothing more than an A1 profiled beavertail - and I don't shoot my best game withthat profile gs. I've been all through mine and the only squawk I have is grossly off center firing pin hits. I have seen this even in their 200 series guns. I am not happy about it...but the guns runs well and is pleasantly accurate.
Some issues of poorly finished chambers, feed ramps, and rough extractors with too little engagement on the case rim causing the empty casing to be knocked off the extractor back into the chamber area (that one got fixed by a new slide from SIG). Also on one of the compacts the barrel was a smidge too long and hanging up on the bottom of the barrel bushing mushrooming the softer metal of the bushing, new barrel and bushing and copacetic. Also some of the older ones used a two piece magwell which some frown upon but I personally only saw one out of spec and a lil bit of file work took care of that. Also saw one with an off center barrel bushing (about 1/16") which usually just looks ugly but can cause excessive wear on high round count guns.
Never did much after market stuff on SIG 1911's as most pistols were pretty well apointed from the factory with all the custom doodads people like. Like I said just a word of caution.
