I had one. Its legal. Think its called a pdw. While its fun to shoot i suggest watching the video on in-range before buying it. A Draco in 7.62x39 has more muzzle energy if that matters to you.

My ffl is telling me that the the newer ptr 51p model isn't legal because it isn't on the roster. Is this incorrect?

Might have to do with the addition of the rail. There might have been an older non-railed model (PTR PDW vs. PTR PDW-R). Try calling a different FFL.

It might help to submit a petition to the roster board:

    https://mdsp.maryland.gov/Organizat...onBureau/LicensingDivision/HandgunRoster.aspx

I would do that ASAP since the deadline is 20 August.

I don't believe it would need a sample submission since it would just be adding a model to something that has already been approved. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I would go ahead and throw all three models in there:

    PDWR PTR 105
    51P PDWR PTR 110
    K3P PDWR PTR 111
