Friend and fellow canoeist for many years
has a few folks who want to do an early
    Father's Day Fishing trip.
I am going to 'guide' a friend
in my 17' Yellowish Old Town Tripper Canoe.
Another friend will use our green Dagger Legend,
and we have another fellow whose canoe I do not know.
If you see me (Yellow Tripper and Yellow PFD) say high.
I know how to fish this area, and will give you the proper jig and lure.

    I am Targeting Small mouth.

Families could float on Tubes from Lander and take out at Point OF Rocks, easy float.
There is good fishing above Lander, that's why I called for our early Brunswick Put-in, we will paddle until the ledges and start fishing then.
DO NOT waste your time fishing Brunswick. About 1 mile+ ish south, at a the right turn is where to fish.
When the river turns right into the ledges, FISH! Paddle up to them, cast into the ridge..... welcome to Lander....

Thanks for that. We’re doing a Potomac float trip later this year.

Oh man, MANY PRICELESS sultry summer memories of smallmouth action, wading out into the dark, waist (and chest) deep waters at Brunswick ... oh man ... IIRC, we’d bounce back and forth between “motor oil” and “pumpkinseed” colored rubber grubs or, some days, white or lime green 2” curly tail grubs on lead-headed hooks.

Or, we’d turn over rocks and bravely grab up hellgrammites (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corydalidae) and put those suckers on hooks!

The best was those so frequent afternoons as the daily late day thunderstorm would start rolling in ... just as the sky turns dark and the wind picks up, switch to top water lures like clear Heddon Tiny Torpedoes for insane surface strikes and action!!!!

Oh man, I MISS THOSE days!!!

I have been up around the Edwards Ferry area a few times in the last month or so. Fishing has not been good but the water level has been coming down so maybe the action will start picking up.

Fished that stretch many times, by canoe and jet boat. Great water. Good luck!
