There have been some prototypes shown online from time to time. One of those prototypes even sold on GunBroker for somewhere around $1000. Nothing was made for the general public... until now.

I just got my brace adapter and installed a tailhook on my Omega MP5 clone. Michael Bonamico from techsmithmfg.com did a fantastic job putting this project together. Good quality, nice fit and function, and Michael is an all around great guy to work with. I ordered a four position stock (it has to be a four position) from HKparts.net and had them ship it directly to Michael. He then modifies the stock and installs the adapter. I installed the tailhook itself when I got it. Very pleased!

Just FYI, I am the nerd who requested the Mythosaur skull printed on the top. He did that as a perk for me being his first/test subject.

Is this still considered a pistol? I thought an “armbrace” had to be approved by the ATF?

It is still legally defined as a pistol.

Each arm brace does not technically require BATF approval. There is an open letter from the BATF about arm braces that approves their use.

That being said. The end of my arm brace, the arm "hook" part, does have a stand alone approval letter because it was one of the first of it's kind.
